Staten Island Yankees. Ny Penn League

NOTES: The Yanks (8-13) fell into a 10-0 hole in the second inning against the Crosscutters (9-12). Williamsport opened the game with three straight triples against Staten Island starter Taylor Morton, who then hit two of the next three batters. Brian Pointer’s grand slam made it 7-0. The Crosscutters’ first seven batters scored and their first nine reached base. Another Pointer home run in the second inning, a two-run shot, made it 10-0.
Staten Island got two runs back in the second as Saxon Butler doubled and scored on Matt Snyder’s basehit. Claudio Custodio drove in Snyder. Butler followed with a two-run homer, his fifth of the season, in the fifth. The Yanks scored four in the sixth keyed by Taylor Dugas’ two-run double.
