NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The Mets have a gaping hole to fill in their rotation with R.A. Dickey shipped off to Toronto.
More like a 20-win canyon.
The names they’ve reportedly tossed around? Carl Pavano, Francisco Liriano, Chris Young and Shaun Marcum, according to the New York Post.
Most on that list missed time related to injury last season, only winning 19 games combined. Dickey, of course, won 20 en route to the NL Cy Young Award.
Liriano came off the board Friday, agreeing to a two-year, $14 million deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported.
The talented but inconsistent Liriano went 6-12 with a 5.34 ERA last season for the Twins and Chicago White Sox.
