NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Ike Davis and the Mets have avoided arbitration.  The Mets’ first baseman has agreed to a one-year contract worth $3,125,000.  He was seeking $3.7 million.

It’s a considerable salary upgrade for Davis, who earned $506,690 in 2012.  He batted .227 with 32 homers and 90 RBIs.

The Mets are still negotiating with infielder Daniel Murphy.  He remains the only Mets player seeking arbitration. The Mets have offered $2.55 million and Murphy believes he is worth$3.4 million.
