Ike Davis Continues To Rake At Triple-A; Mets Mulling Promotion?

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Ike Davis is hitting it big in Vegas.

The demoted New York Mets first baseman slugged his fifth home run in four games on Monday night, doubling and driving two runs for Triple-A Las Vegas.

Oh, and he was named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week.

So have the Mets seen enough? The team is “considering” bringing him back as early as Thursday in Colorado, according to the New York Daily News.

Last week, manager Terry Collins passed along reports of Davis making “good strides” with the 51s.

When he starts swinging good, that’s when he’ll be back,” Collins said Thursday. “I don’t have any date. And as I said when we sent him out, I don’t think it’s going to happen overnight.”

The 26-year-old was “disappointed” that he was passed over for Zach Lutz when Lucas Duda went on the disabled list…
