Ike Davis will remain with the New York Mets because there are no great alternatives out there. You don’t trade a 30 HR 90 RBI guy for nothing on the upside Ike is still young and has the capability to produce Good numbers at first base.
As for Alderson and the Payroll the Mets had an 87 Million Payroll in 2013. He expects that to increase next season to 100 million. The Mets have had no contact with any free agents since the GM Meetings,Alderson also acknowledged the Mets Made An offer to Hawkins, who accepted a 1 year contract with the Rockies on Monday worth 2.5 million. We will have to wait and see in this free agent market it might be later than sooner before Mets make any deal this offseason.
